Drs. Michelle Britchkow & Kriti Bhagat
Drs. Britchkow and Bhagat will discuss the clinical applications of prosthetic, cosmetic and tinted contact lenses. The presentation will include clinical conditions that can be managed with the use of these contact lenses.
Drs. Britchkow and Bhagat both earned their degrees from Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry and completed a residency in Cornea and Contact Lens at The Eye Institute. Both instructors currently teach in the contact lens courses and precept in the Cornea and Specialty Contact Lens Service at The Eye Institute.
Dr. Mark Krakauer
In this lecture, Dr. Mark Krakauer will discuss the most common manifestations of thyroid eye disease, review the epidemiology of thyroid eye disease relative to thyroid dysfunction and present recent research on treatment strategies based on disease stratification. Dr. Krakauer attended the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland and graduated with honors from the University of Chicago with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He received a Master of Philosophy in International Development from the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom and a Doctor of Medicine with distinction in research from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. He completed an ophthalmology residency at Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary in Chicago and an ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at Indiana University and the University of Louisville. Dr. Krakauer is currently a clinical assistant professor of ophthalmology at Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and associate at the Lehigh Valley Center for Sight.
These sessions are open to local eye care providers at no charge. COPE approval has been submitted for these sessions. All sessions will be held in the Toland Classroom on the upper level of The Eye Institute from 7:30 a.m. - 8:45 a.m. For your convenience, please use the Spencer Avenue staff and student parking lot and entrance.
