Dr. Joshua Greene to Discuss Management of Retinal Detachments

Dr. Joshua GreeneOn January 22 from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m., Joshua Greene, MD, FAAO, will discuss management of retinal detachments as part of the Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO) Grand Rounds program at The Eye Institute. Open to local eyecare providers at no charge, the goals of the Grand Rounds program are to develop a network of professionals to share information and strengthen clinical knowledge, to foster professional development in the optometric community and to provide continuing education opportunities. During his session, Dr. Greene will discuss the etiology and diagnosis of retinal detachments and cover common management strategies for detachments, including pneumatic retinopexy, vitrectomy, and scleral buckling.

Currently, Dr. Greene is a vitreoretinal surgeon at Deglin & Greene Retinal Center and a clinical associate of ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine’s Scheie Eye Institute. An expert in his field, Dr. Greene has co-authored many manuscripts and is often a featured presenter for professional associations and organizations.

Dr. Greene is a member of several professional organizations, including the Pennsylvania Medical Society, New York Ophthalmologic Society, Long Island Ophthalmic Society, American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Medical Association.

Dr. Greene graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh and earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Temple University. He completed a medical internship at Albert Einstein Medical Center; an ophthalmology residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, where he served as chief resident; and a surgical retina fellowship at Indiana University.  He currently resides in Villanova, Pa.
