The holidays are the perfect time to connect with friends and family whether in person, by phone or zoom. However, these connections can be difficult with communication barriers such as hearing loss. For some individuals, hearing loss can put a damper on the fHear for the Holidays Promo Flyerestive activities of the season.

Common signs of hearing loss include:
  • Trouble understanding phone conversations
  • Difficulty hearing over background noise
  • Trouble following a conversation when more than one person is speaking
  • Frequently thinking people are mumbling
  • Asking people to repeat themselves
  • Frequent complaints by others that the TV is too loud

Hearing loss can have a negative impact on a person’s mental and social well-being. A study conducted by the National Council on Aging found people with untreated hearing loss were more likely to report depression and anxiety and were also found to be less social.

Just in time for the holiday season, the Pennsylvania Ear Institute (PEI) wants to give the gift of hearing to as many people as possible. From December 13-17, 2021 PEI will provide complimentary telehealth consultations with our expert Doctors of Audiology to answer your questions about how hearing loss may be affecting you. Connect with us from the comfort of your own home via a secure link on your mobile device or computer.
