Dr. Pelino working with a patientDr. Carlo Pelino was recently named Chief of The Eye Institute’s (TEI) Chestnut Hill satellite practice. As a member of the clinical faculty at TEI for over 21 years, Dr. Pelino is eager to serve the Chestnut Hill community’s vision care needs.

Dr. Pelino earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1994, and completed his residency training with an emphasis on ocular disease at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Philadelphia. Following his residency, Dr. Pelino completed a clinical fellowship in vitreo-retinal diseases.

Dr. Pelino provides personalized care to each patient through assessing and understanding their individual needs. “My approach to patient care is systemic- the eye can tell me substantial facts about a patient’s general health,” said Dr. Pelino. “It’s important to care for the patient as a whole, and build lasting relationships in the process.” In addition to caring for patients in the adult primary care service of TEI, Dr. Pelino also has a referral retinal practice.
