About:
Alison Finkelstein earned her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of Maryland. She has over 30 years experience in the evaluation and treatment of adults with neurogenic communication and swallowing disorders with a primary focus and expertise on individuals with aphasia and motor speech disorders. She has experience in both acute care and rehabilitation hospitals including Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, Bryn Mawr Rehab, MossRehab as Dysphagia Coordinator, and 19 years at Jeanes Hospital as a Clinical Specialist.
Ali began working as a Clinical Educator in the Speech Language Institute (SLI) with the SLI’s commencement in 2015 and was awarded the Outstanding Clinical Preceptor Award in 2017. She initiated and developed two treatment groups at SLI: The Aphasia Support Group for persons with aphasia and The LOUD Crowd, serving individuals with communication disorders secondary to Parkinson's disease.
