Dr. Gwenn Amos graduated from Temple University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology. After earning a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1992, Dr. Amos completed a residency in Primary Care at The Eye Institute. Following her residency training, Dr. Amos has been a member of The Eye Institute’s professional staff. She also has experience in private and retail optometric practice and in ophthalmologic settings.
Dr. Amos completed a Masters Degree in public health in order to enhance the application of optometric practice to underserved populations. She is a certified Health Education Specialist, a Certified Professional Coder and a Certified Professional Medical Auditor.
Dr. Amos is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry; a member of the American Public Health Association, the American Optometric Association and the Pennsylvania Optometric Association. She has published in the national and international ophthalmic literature, has contributed to textbooks, and has lectured and taught clinical optometry in the United States and abroad.
