If you are feeling ill for any reason, we encourage you to stay home and rest. Students should contact student affairs for an excused absence and faculty and staff should contact their supervisor to arrange for sick leave.  

If you believe that you have or have been exposed to COVID-19, you should follow the CDC guidelines for quarantine and isolation. You no longer need to report potential exposure or cases of COVID-19 to the Pandemic Safety Officer. Tests continue to be available at the security desks on campus for all who need them.

Current Masking Guidance

In order to allow you to easily check the COVID Policy we have put up posters with a “stop light” theme. The indication of the classification will be adjusted as needed so that you can easily see the mask expectations daily: 
 
  • Red Light for high, masks are mandatory everywhere in Salus facilities
  • Yellow Light for medium, masks are mandatory in instructional spaces and at Salus clinics and optional everywhere else
  • Green Light for low, masks are mandatory at Salus clinics and optional everywhere else
Please check the signs as you enter campus each day to see the mask policy for that day
 

Vaccination Information

Over 95% of the Salus community (students, faculty and staff) report being vaccinated. Faculty and staff can report their booster status here. Students should report their booster status through CastleBranch.


Salus Safety Strategy: COVID-19

The Salus Safety Strategy is designed to protect our community.

Individual Action

COVID-19 PosterOur protocols are designed to reduce the risk of exposure, but the contagious nature of COVID-19 means we cannot eliminate all risk of infection. Everyone must also do their part and follow the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases like COVID-19.

We want to implore that if you or a family member is sick, or has been exposed to someone who is sick, STAY HOME and contact your health provider. 

Any individual with a confirmed case of COVID-19 is asked to report this information to Human Resources (faculty/staff) or Student Affairs (students).

COVID-19 Symptom Check

If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and would like to speak to a healthcare provider, we have arranged for you to be able to do so through Jefferson Health’s JeffConnect. You can either download the app from the App Store (Apple) or on Google Play (Android) or access it from your web browser at JeffConnect. After you register, you can schedule a telehealth appointment. If warranted, the Jefferson provider will arrange for you to be tested at one of Jefferson’s mobile test sites. Subject to applicable co-pays, the health insurance coverage (students, faculty and staff) offered by Salus University covers the telehealth visit and any ordered testing. If you maintain other health insurance coverage, please check with your carrier.

Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds

Through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES), the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSSA), and the American Rescue Plan (ARP), the Department of Education (ED) made funds available for institutions of higher education to distribute to students to reimburse them for expenses related to disruptions to their education, and to the institution’s use to offset expenses incurred due to changes in delivery of education and increased safety protocols due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Additionally, Salus University has applied for, and received, additional funding through the Supplemental Assistance to Institutions of Higher Education (SAIHE) Grant.
