About Dr. Chronister:

Dr Chronister has been a member of the professional staff at The Eye Institute for over 20 years. She graduated from Elizabethtown College in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. In 1986, she received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry where she received the clinical excellence award. After completing a residency in primary care the following year at The Eye Institute, she joined the faculty of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. 

As chief of Primary Care Module 2, Dr. Chronister’s clinical practice at The Eye Institute is in adult primary care. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she also is an instructor in the pre-clinical didactic program at Salus University. Her primary classroom and laboratory teaching occurs in ocular anatomy and physiology course work.

Dr. Chronister has written over 50 articles and chapters primarily related to ocular disease and infection control in clinical practice. Her expertise in these topics has allowed her to lecture nationally and internationally. Dr. Chronister is a member of the American Optometric Association and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. In addition to her clinical responsibilities at The Eye Institute, she provides low vision care to patients at the Philadelphia Veterans Administration Medical Center. She is also a clinical adjunct professor at The New England College of Optometry and State University College of Optometry.
