Primary Care Facility Now Open at The Eye Institute

Patients at The Eye Institute (TEI) of Salus University and the entire Oak Lane community can now enjoy expanded healthcare services with the addition of CityLife Neighborhood Clinic’s latest Oak Lane location, which opened its doors this week. CityLife Oak Lane is located on the second floor of TEI and offers an array of primary care and urgent care services using a patient-centered approach.
Integrated patient care is a core value of both CityLife and TEI, according to Salus University president Dr. Michael H. Mittelman.
CityLife Clinic"We’re extremely excited to have a primary care medical clinic located within The Eye Institute," he said. "The CityLife Neighbhorhood Clinic will have a significant impact to the population health of the East Oak Lane communities as well as our current patients."
Dr. Maria Parisi, associate dean of Clinical Affairs, agrees. “This is a tremendous opportunity for Salus Health and The Eye Institute to not only increase medical services for our community but also provide new multi-disciplinary opportunities in educating our students,” she said.
Having access to primary care services greatly aids patients with chronic conditions that can also impact vision, such as diabetes, high blood pressure and thyroid disease. Community members can now easily access the necessary healthcare providers they require in one convenient location.
“Clearly we are excited about opening a CityLife Neighborhood Clinic at The Eye Institute, but it is the partnership with Salus University and our ability to bring integrative medicine to Oak Lane residents that we are most excited about,” Tim Petrikin, CEO of CityLife Neighborhoods Clinics, said. “This is only possible because of the shared visions of the two organizations and their culture of innovation and service. We look forward to the evolution of our primary care model and the partnership in the future.”
CityLife’s care model focuses on a holistic approach for patients and has designed its services to make health easier and more accessible. Each patient is matched with a care team, which includes a doctor, a nurse, a health coach and a guide for medications.
